Frederick E. Foss, 38, lineman, died attempting to rescue William Quann, 37, lineman, from electric shock, Somerset, Massachusetts, November 16, 1908. While Quann was working at a lightning arrester, his head came in contact with an electric switch carrying 13,200 volts. He instantly stiffened, a bluish light spread about him, and his hair and clothing began to blaze. Foss grasped his legs to pull him away from the switch, but both men were killed. 3500-299
