George H. Poell, 25, locomotive fireman, saved A. Paul Ussary, 3, from being run over by a train, Powells, Nebraska, June 26, 1905. Poell climbed out to the pilot of the locomotive of the train running 8 m.p.h. and pushed the child from the track, but in doing so fell, and had his left foot torn off.
