George J. Bauer saved Leroy Dailey from being killed by a train, Los Angeles, California, October 21, 1925. Leroy, 20 months, stood on a track in the path of an electric train that was moving 30 m.p.h. Bauer, 41, motorman, who was operating an electric car on an adjacent track, stopped his car opposite Leroy and ran 16 feet to him, reaching him when the train was not more than 30 feet from him. Without stopping, he lifted Leroy and carried him from the track just before the train passed at reduced speed.
