George Linwood Presbrey assisted in an attempt to save Frank S. Angell, 54, lawyer, from drowning, Block Island, Rhode Island, August 15, 1924. (See case of HAROLD STANLEY VERNET.) George, 17, student, waded 30 feet and swam 370 feet to Angell, reaching him slightly in advance of Harold. George grasped Angell by the ankle, and George and Harold swam with Angell until the large wave separated them and threw George against a rock. George was dazed, but he held to the rock until he was helped to shore. 24557-1978
