George W. Alcorn saved Rolla C. Bone from suffocation, Monterey, Missouri, August 26, 1914. Bone, 24, miner, was overcome on the bottom of a well in which dynamite had been discharged. Alcorn, 34, farmer, carrying a short rope, was lowered in a bucket 42 feet to the bottom of the well. He placed Bone in the bucket and tied him in it. Bone was then raised from the well, the bucket was again lowered, and Alcorn was raised from the well. Bone was revived. 14483-1413
