Gloria Duncan rescued Kathy C. Tom from assault, Pinchi, British Columbia, May 14, 1984. Mrs. Tom, 28, was being stabbed repeatedly by an enraged man as they struggled along a rural road. Mrs. Duncan, 27, pre-school teacher, was driving by when she saw the struggle. She stopped her truck and, despite being given threatening gestures by the assailant, who was sitting atop Mrs. Tom, attempted to grab his arms. He pushed her away. Mrs. Duncan then grabbed the assailant’s weapon hand, pushed him off Mrs. Tom, then held him down until Mrs. Tom fled. Mrs. Tom was hospitalized for her extensive wounds. 60135-6972
