Harvey Frank Cundiff saved Louise E. Langmead from being killed by a train, Chili, New York, September 11, 1930. Mrs. Langmead, 57, started to walk slowly over a railroad crossing as a passenger train running 55 m.p.h. was approaching. Cundiff, 32, station agent, ran more than 40 feet to a point between the rails to Mrs. Langmead, grasped her, and swung her off the track when the locomotive was approximately 15 feet from her. He barely cleared the train, which passed at unreduced speed.
