Henry Graham Crellin saved Charles Loomis from drowning, Lyons, Nebraska, August 17, 1932. While wading in Logan Creek, Charles, 17, schoolboy, stepped into water 15 feet deep three feet from the bank, was momentarily submerged, threshed, and then grasped a youth who was near him. After the youth had freed himself and swum toward the bank, Henry, 17, schoolboy, who was considerably lighter than Charles, swam 10 feet from wadable water to him. Charles threw his arms around Henry’s neck, and both were repeatedly submerged in a prolonged struggle. Henry then grabbed Charles by the hair and tried to swim toward the nearest bank, but they drifted farther from it. Charles then became unconscious, and Henry with great effort swam and towed him 15 feet to a point close to the opposite bank. A man standing in wadable water pulled Henry and Charles to the bank. Charles was revived. 32625-2779
