Henry Naumann saved Adeline D. Robinson from being killed by a train, Hammond, Indiana, June 16, 1924. Mrs. Robinson, 56, walked under lowered gates at a crossing and onto a track on which a passenger train was approaching at a speed of 18 m.p.h. Naumann, 46, crossing watchman, who was standing at his post holding a sign, saw her and ran 25 feet to her and pushed her across the track.
