J. Terry Acuff, 15, student, saved Clyda Brotherton, 13, and T. Wilkes Coleman, 14, student, from drowning, Jasper, Alabama, August 18, 1913. (See case of ANDREW MCA. STOVALL, JR.) Clyda was the other girt in the rowboat, and Terry was the other boy. Wilkes was in the canoe that Andrew dived from and was thrown from it and became distressed when Andrew dived. Terry grasped Clyda and started swimming with her. She tried to grasp him, but he held her off and swam 25 feet with her to shallow water. He then swam to Wilkes, who was unconscious, seized him by the hair, and swam to shallow water with him. Wilkes was revived. 11732-1306
