James C. Becknell, 24, salesman, saved Ida McKay, 46, from being run over by an automobile, Dallas, Texas, June 11, 1915. Mrs. McKay and Becknell stepped into the street to board a streetcar. An automobile approached them at a speed of 25 m.p.h. Becknell, who was about three feet from Mrs. McKay, saw the automobile, and when it was about 20 feet from them, he struck her and knocked her away from its path. The automobile knocked Becknell down and ran over his right ankle. Mrs. McKay was not injured. Becknell’s ankle was broken, and he was otherwise bruised. He was disabled for seven weeks. 16246-1493
