James L. Worth, 47, crossing watchman, saved Francis W. Geloran, 6, from being killed by a train, North Abington, Massachusetts, October 20, 1917. Francis, running across a track on which a train had just passed, got on a track on which a passenger train was approaching at a speed of 30 m.p.h. Worth, who had but one arm, saw him coming and ran 10 feet to Francis, grasped him on the track, and swung him off. Both fell clear of the track but barely missed being struck. 18752-1576
