James M. Rose, 54, switchman, died attempting to save Louise Potts, 54, from being run over by a train, Cincinnati, Ohio, January 22, 1912. Rose ran 25 feet to Mrs. Potts, who had stepped on a track on which a passenger train was approaching. When he started, the train was 125 feet away and running at a speed of 15 m.p.h. In attempting to take her off the track, he slipped and fell and caused her to fall also, and both were struck by the locomotive. They were knocked 15 feet and rendered unconscious. Neither regained consciousness, and both died within an hour. 7908-627
