John B. Carter saved Nicholas Mustee from electric shock, East Cleveland, Ohio, April 24, 1926. Mustee, 56, millwright, took hold of an insulated wire carrying a current of 4,600 volts of electricity and fell on the ground unconscious. He held to the wire with both hands, and small flames flashed from his body. Men saw Mustee burning, but they did not attempt to rescue him. Carter, 42, investigator, ran to the wire, and, although he saw the flashing and expected to be shocked, he took hold of the wire with both hands and jerked it from Mustee. He was not shocked. Mustee regained consciousness in three hours but sustained severe burns. 26190-2211
