John Bibby, 29, mate, saved James Jamieson, 40, from drowning, Bracebridge, Ontario, October 31, 1905. Bibby jumped from a steamer into Muskoka Lake and swam to Jamieson, who had become benumbed and exhausted while clinging to a small boat, which had capsized during a heavy storm. It was impractical to launch a lifeboat from the steamer. Supporting him until the steamer was brought nearer, Bibby then caught hold of a life preserver thrown from it, and both were hauled on board. 707-131
