John C. Giles, 35, clerk, saved Henry J. Dreher, 6, from being killed by a train, Rutherford, New Jersey, October 19, 1918. Henry started to cross a track when the train was 20 feet from him and running 12 m.p.h. Giles ran eight feet to Henry, grasped him, and swung him out of the path of the train. Giles was then struck by the locomotive and hurled away from the track. Henry was not injured, but Giles was badly brusied. 19226-1610
