John M. Parks, 19, laborer, with two others, rescued Charles A. McCoy, 28, from a blast in a mine, Ketchum, Idaho, June 13, 1905. Parks, after having been knocked down by the concussion from a premature explosion, rushed to the assistance of McCoy, who had been rendered helpless and was lying near other blasts which were momentarily expected to go off, and helped carry him to safety.
