Joseph S. Boutin, 34, motion picture performer, died attempting to save F. Howard Daughters, 22, motion picture performer, from drowning, Abercrombie, Alaska, June 28, 1927. Daughters fell from a boat into the rapids of the Copper River and drifted in turbulent water that was flowing at least 10 m.p.h. Boutin, who was dressed and was on a platform 15 feet above the water, dived toward Daughters, who was 100 feet from him. He did not rise. Both were drowned.
