Karl R. Davis saved Frank D. Smallwood from drowning, Sharon Center, Ohio, August 19, 1925. While Frank, 15, schoolboy, was rowing on an unnamed lake a mile from Sharon Center, his boat turned over, and he was thrown into water eight feet deep. The boat drifted away from him. Karl, 13, schoolboy, who was much lighter than Frank, swam 70 feet to him, caught hold of his hair, and swam 20 feet with him to a dam. While being towed, Frank kept grabbing at Karl but was unable to grasp him. 26120-2117
