Kelvin G. Brundrett died attempting to save Stephen J. West and Richard Cheung from falling, Wellesley, Ontario, July 27, 1991. West, 43, skydiving instructor, and Cheung, 24, his student, were jumping in tandem when their main parachute failed to deploy and their reserve parachute entangled in its lines. Brundrett, 30, freelance photographer, was diving with the men to videotape their jump. Delaying the deployment of his own parachute, Brundrett maneuvered to West and Cheung after the failure of their reserve parachute and, grasping their parachute lines, attempted to assist them. Although Brundrett then deployed his own parachute, with only seconds remaining, all three men struck the ground. They died instantly.
