Kenneth S. Andreen rescued Carsten B. Molt from burning, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, February 24, 2022. Molt, 45, was on couch in a first-floor living room of a two-story house after fire broke out on the home’s second floor. Andreen, 48, delivery driver, was in the neighborhood and saw smoke and flames coming from windows of the second floor. After learning that someone remained inside the home, Andreen opened the front door and entered the smoke-filled house. He shouted and heard a voice, then walked into the living room, where he saw Molt on the couch. Andreen told Molt that the house was on fire and that they needed to get out. He picked up Molt and put him over his shoulder, then exited through the front door as conditions inside the home deteriorated. Molt sustained smoke inhalation, was treated at a hospital, and he recovered. Molt was not burned. Andreen inhaled smoke; he recovered later that day.
