Kevin B. Courter saved Paula J. Ramsey and three others from being burned, Van Nuys, California, February 24, 1973. At night the automobile driven by Mrs. Ramsey was involved in an accident and rolled onto its top with the driver and three passengers all being injured and knocked unconscious. Flames which had broken out on the upturned bottom of the vehicle were spreading as Courter,18, printer, made three trips to the automobile and removed Mrs. Ramsey and two others by pulling each through the window opening. Courter then found that the fourth occupant was held in some manner. Crawling into the inverted automobile, Courter freed the fourth person and then removed him from the vehicle. Soon afterward an explosive spread of flames completely filled the automobile.
