Kyle Davis Warner rescued Brenda L. Simpson from assault, Seattle, Washington, May 24, 1985. At the restaurant where she worked, Miss Simpson, 20, was forced at gunpoint into a car by a man who then sped off with her. Witnessing the abduction, Warner, 30, landscaper, followed in his truck. After finding the car stopped in the middle of a street, Warner saw the abductor on the sidewalk holding the gun to Miss Simpson’s head. He approached, slowly, in his truck. When Miss Simpson broke and ran, Warner opened the driver’s door of his truck and shouted for her. Miss Simpson leapt into the truck, but as Warner pulled away, the abductor stepped to the running board and threatened Warner with the gun. Warner accelerated the truck, throwing the abductor to the street. The abductor fired at the truck, but missed, as Warner sped Miss Simpson to safety.
