Lewis M. Nelson died attempting to help save Anna Louise Evans from drowning, San Angelo, Texas, August 30, 1941. Nelson, 28, mechanic, who was partly clothed and a poor swimmer, was gasping from running when he entered the water. When Nelson swerved in his course and Charles noted his distress, Charles called to him to use a faster stroke; but Nelson said he could not and sank. (See case of CHARLES OTHO WINBURNE.) 39221-3236
