Maree Y. Trevor, 9, saved George W. Rochester, 7, from drowning, Marion, Illinois, December 30, 1906. Maree, who could not swim, jumped from a low bridge crossing Marion Creek into the water, which was high and swift, and grabbed George, who had fallen in.
