Maybel I. Raynard saved Alberta A. Brown from drowning, Hollywood Place, California, September 5, 1926. Miss Raynard, 24, clerk, waded 70 feet and then swam about 70 feet in the Santa Barbara Channel to Miss Brown, 32, who was helpless. She swam with great difficulty with Miss Brown through the breakers and rough water to wadable water. Others then heIped to take Miss Brown to shore. Miss Brown was unconscious but was revived.
