Michael Allen saved Deborah F. Davis from being struck by a train, Conroe, Texas, July 18, 1987. The automobile which Mrs. Davis, 35, was driving stalled on a railroad track as a freight train approached, and she was unsuccessful in her attempts to unfasten her safety belt. Allen, 26, automobile sales-person, had been a passenger in the car but had exited when it stalled. As the train advanced, Allen ran to the driver’s door and opened it, then leaned inside and released Mrs. Davis’s safety belt. He pulled her out of the car, and they ran from the track seconds before the train struck the car and demolished it.
