Michael Donlon died saving Malvina and Delcina F. Gauthier from being struck by a train, Meriden, Connecticut, January 2, 1909. Delcina, 8, fell on the track in front of an approaching passenger train. Her mother, Malvina, 35, rushed to her and stood bewildered. Donlon, 35, porter, jumped between the rails, flung the girl aside, and shoved her mother clear of the track, but he was himself struck by the engine and died nine hours later. 3184-316
