Miller Stull saved F. Claribel Kilmer and Caroline S. Visser from drowning, Lakeville, Indiana, August 11, 1920. Caroline, 15, while attempting to swim with water wings in Riddle Lake, tried to touch bottom in water six feet deep 20 feet from the bank. She was submerged, and upon rising, she grasped Claribel, 16, who was in wadable water near her, and drew her into deep water. The girls struggled together and were carried five feet farther from the bank. Miller, 15, student, waded and swam to them. He grasped an arm of each to separate them, but the girls grabbed him each with an arm around his neck and took him under water. With great effort he freed himself and then took hold of Claribel and started to swim toward the bank with her. Caroline grasped Claribel, and Miller swam with both about 10 feet to wadable water and waded with them to the bank. 20677-1775
