Minnie I. Campbell, 26, housewife, rescued Harvey N. Twite, 6, from burning, Glenrock, Wyoming, January 23, 1926. Harvey was playing in a room in Mrs. Campbell’s home which was full of gasoline fumes. A pan of gasoline that Mrs. Campbell placed near a fire exploded and set fire to her clothing and to the room. Harvey tried to unlock an outside door and then ran behind a trunk in a corner of the room. Mrs. Campbell, who was severely burned in the explosion, ran out through an adjoining room and extinguished her burning clothing in snow. Hearing Harvey call, she then ran into the house and led him toward the door she had entered. Within a few feet of the door she fell with Harvey. Harvey jumped up and ran out of the house, and Mrs. Campbell, although dazed, also got out. Both were very seriously burned but recovered. 26004-2238
