Monica F. Hession, 20, stenographer, saved Frank Honigman, 40, retired, and Mary B. Honigman, 15, from drowning, Rifton, New York, July 18, 1926. Mary was wading in the Wallkill River when she got beyond her depth and was carried by her struggles to water 12 feet deep. Her father swam to her, but she struggled with him, and he became unconscious. Miss Hession, who was fully clothed and weighed much less than either of the others, waded a few feet from the bank and then swam 32 feet to them. She took hold of Honigman and swam 12 feet to wadable water as Mary clung to her father. Honigman was revived. 26484-2234
