Myrtle Grimm Ferris, 34, housewife, saved Marilyn R. Miller, 4, from drowning, Trenton, New Jersey, March 23, 1928. Marilyn fell into the Sanhican Creek and was quickly carried away by the current. Mrs. Ferris ran 650 feet to a point on the bank about opposite Marilyn and then, almost fully clothed, swam 20 feet to her. Unable to swim directly across the current with Marilyn, she swam and drifted 100 feet with her to wadable water. 28257-2385
