Born in Cave City, Ark., Oscar Oneal Brown lived in Porterville, Calif., for 28 years where he retired after 22 years of service in the Army. He was a highly decorated soldier in World War II. In 1965, he was awarded the Carnegie Medal for heroism.
He was also a member of Porterville Masonic Lodge No. 303 Free and Accepted Masons, Porterville York Rite Bodies, Bakersfield Scottish Rite, Palm Leaf Chapter No. 114 of the Order of Eastern Star, and Tehran Temple in Fresno, Calif.
