Philip C. Pregenzer, 34, city fireman, saved Annie Gearty, 35, from drowning, Coney Island, New York, August 2, 1904. Pregenzer went to the assistance of Mrs. Gearty, who had been taken with a cramp while swimming in the ocean 210 feet from shore. After a struggle, he knocked her unconscious and then swam with her to shore. 1159-104
