Redmond M. Burr, 43, railroad telegraphers order representative, saved William A. Weed, 71, farmhand, from being killed by a train, Holland, Michigan, September 23, 1922. Weed stepped to a point less than a foot from a track on which a train was approaching at a speed of 15 m.p.h. Burr, who was on the opposite side of the track 12 feet from Weed, leaped toward Weed and pushed him backward. The train was only a few inches from him as he cleared the track. 22819-2077
