Robert Allen Infussi rescued Marco A. Cabrera from assault, Providence, Rhode Island, November 14, 1988. Cabrera, 23, was preparing to deposit money in a bank after closing hours when he was approached by a man who was armed with a knife. When the man demanded Cabrera’s money, a struggle ensued, during which the man stabbed Cabrera repeatedly. Infussi, 28, mason, witnessed the attack from nearby. He approached the assailant and struck him with a tire iron, causing the assailant to drop the knife and flee. When the assailant returned and resumed threatening Cabrera, Infussi kept him at bay until an arriving police officer apprehended him. Cabrera required hospitalization for his stab wounds.
