Robert C. Woods, 22, farmer, died attempting to save Harry A. Strom, 16, schoolboy, from drowning, Southbend, Minnesota, July 17, 1910. Woods plunged into the deep water and grabbed Harry, who could not swim and had stepped backward into a hole in the Blue Earth River 40 feet from the bank. A desperate struggle followed, and both were drowned. 5406-440
