Robert McD. Logan, Jr., 12, schoolboy, saved William B. Schell, 12, from drowning, Fort Worth, Texas, July 25, 1911. William, who could not swim, got into a hole in Clear Fork of the Trinity River, where the water was 15 feet deep, and struggled to keep at the surface. Robert, who also could not swim, ran 200 feet, mounted a pony without a saddle, and swam it into the stream toward William. The latter had sunk, and, when he came up unconscious near Robert, Robert grasped his hair and guided the pony to the bank, drawing William with him. William was revived. 7044-667
