Robert S. Wilson died attempting to save Frances A. Cilensek from drowning, Pinedale, Wyoming, July 19, 1931. While wading in Half Moon Lake, Frances, 16, stepped into water beyond her depth and called for help at a point 85 feet from the shore. Wilson, 34, newspaper publisher, who was almost fully clothed and had just eaten heartily, waded 75 feet from the shore, swam 10 feet farther, and pulled Frances to him. She grasped him, pushing him under the surface. Wilson pushed her up, rose, and, supporting her with one hand, swam five feet toward wadable water. Frances then grasped his head and again pushed him under the surface. Wilson did not reappear and was drowned. Frances was saved by another man.
