Roland C. Brown died attempting to save Robert T. Sigler from drowning, Addison, New York, July 9, 1974. Sigler, 22, attempted to retrieve a drifting boat from Baxter Lake but began flailing in a deep-water area and, after being submerged briefly, called for help. Brown, 45, resort operator, entered the water and swam 20 feet to Sigler. While Brown attempted to aid Sigler, the latter continued flailing; and both were submerged briefly several times. Brown then went under and did not reappear, and seconds later Sigler also sank. Both drowned. 54081-6124
