Samuel S. Zimmerman helped to rescue Janet L. McClearn from burning, Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, January 6, 1976. When an automobile was involved in a highway accident and fire broke out at its rear end, Mrs. McClearn, 39, was trapped inside. Zimmerman, 29, construction laborer, and another man ran to the vehicle, on which the flames were spreading. Extending his arms and head into the automobile through an open window, Zimmerman drew Mrs. McClearn to the door. The other man aided in removing her from the vehicle, which soon afterward was enveloped in flames. Mrs. McClearn recovered from burns she had sustained.
