Sandy S. Termotto rescued Albert L. Tolle from burning, Bluffton, South Carolina, February 6, 1979. Tolle, 20, was unconscious and pinned in the front seat of an automobile that had been involved in a collision and on which the engine was afire, the flames spreading into the front compartment. Termotto, 34, dentist, forced open the passenger door, knelt on the floor, and managed to free Tolle. He then pulled Tolle out of the automobile, which a short time later was engulfed by flames. Tolle recovered from burns he had sustained.
