Scott Morin saved a boy and girl from drowning, Worcester, Massachusetts, June 4, 2021. The boy, 15, and girl, 14, struggled to stay afloat in the deep water of a pond about 35 feet from its bank. Morin, 26, police officer, was dispatched to the scene. Morin, wearing boots, body armor, and his uniform, quickly entered the 52-degree water and swam to them. Grasping them each by a hand, he used his feet to kick, with difficulty, toward the bank, towing them. Nearly exhausted, Morin reached wadable water with Joseph and Kristen and released his holds on them. Joseph and Kristen exited the pond to safety. Morin too exited the water. Morin was taken by ambulance to the hospital to be checked for injuries. He recovered.
