Tempe A. Curtis saved Louis Rizzo from being killed by a train, Harrisburg, Texas, February 15, 1919. Louis, 7, was walking on a railroad track opposite the station as a freight train, going about 20 m.p.h., was approaching on the track. Miss Curtis, 25, station agent, ran from her office, through the station waiting room, and about 22 feet across the platform to Louis. She seized him with a hand under each arm and jerked him off the track, clearing the path of the locomotive when it was two or three feet from her.
