Teresa F. Dolan died attempting to save Gladys Robinson from drowning, Ontonagon, Michigan, May 17, 1911. Gladys, 10, who could not swim, fell from a raft while playing on a pond and went beneath the surface in water eight feet deep at a point 12 feet from the bank. Teresa, 13, schoolgirl, ran into the water and swam two or three strokes to Gladys, who was then at the surface. She extended her hands to Gladys, and they both went beneath the surface. Their heads came above the surface, and then the girls again sank. Both were drowned. 12489-1115
