Theodore Czajkowski, 18, painter, died attempting to save Boleslaw Wylazlowski, 11, from drowning, Jersey City, New Jersey, July 15, 1928. While wading in Upper New York Bay, Boleslaw stepped into deep water 33 feet from shore. Czajkowski, who was fully clothed, waded within a few feet of Boleslaw and dived toward him. He rose beside Boleslaw and then sank and was drowned. A moment later Boleslaw sank and was drowned. 28420-2321
