Thomas J. Waller, 33, section foreman, saved Oscar. E. Jordan, Jr., 2, from being killed by train, Bogue Chitto, Mississippi, July 12, 1921. Oscar wandered onto a railroad track and stood in the path of a train approaching at a speed of 30 m.p.h. Waller ran toward him from a point 250 feet away and reached the track when the train was 20 feet from Oscar and running at a speed of 15 m.p.h. Waller caught hold of Oscar’s arm and jerked Oscar with him as he ran across the track, just clearing the locomotive. 21855-1905
