Thomas P. Cahill, 47, assistant superintendent, life insurance company, saved Isabella Mandel, 3, from being run over by a streetcar, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, April 27, 1912. Cahill sprang into the street and crouched between the rails to rescue Isabella, who had wandered upon the track. While the car was approaching at a speed of 10 m.p.h. and when the fender was but four feet distant, Cahill grabbed Isabella.
