Thomas P. Edwards died attempting to save Georgia Barlow from drowning, Catherine, Alabama, December 24, 1925. Mrs. Barlow, 32, fell from a ferry-barge on the Alabama River into water 12 feet deep. Fully clothed, Edwards, 23, musician, jumped from the barge and swam a few feet toward her but was then carried away by the current. A rope was thrown to Mrs. Barlow, and she was pulled to the barge. Edwards drifted about 30 feet and finally sank and was drowned. 25997-2160
