Timothy C. Reilly rescued Herman and Rachel Weinbrot from assault, Ellenville, New York, January 30, 1991. Weinbrot, 94, and his wife, 92, were in their two-story home when a man armed with a knife forced his way into the foyer and began to attack them. Reilly, 43, teacher, who lived in a second-floor apartment, heard the commotion and ran downstairs. Seeing Weinbrot struggling with the assailant, Reilly grasped the assailant, causing him to release Weinbrot. Reilly and the assailant then struggled, Reilly pushing the assailant toward the door. The assailant fled but was later arrested by police. Weinbrot sustained a cut neck, which required sutures; he recovered. Reilly likewise recovered from a cut to his eyebrow.
